In the oil and gas industry in Australia, John F Kennedy’s name and achievements are legendary. His work was synonymous with continuous achievement and his peers saw his contribution to the industry as outstanding. Despite limited ‘paper’ education by today's standards, John’s ‘Hands On University’ education created benchmarks that many of today’s young engineers are proud to aim for.
John’s achievements included: • Qualification for apprenticeship in the oil and gas industry (one of the first industry apprentices in Australia) • Oil field machinist - shift leading-hand - shop foreman with Tri State Oil and Tool Supply, Victoria • Machine Shop set-up as Manager, Tri State Oil and Tool Supply, Western Australia • Managing Director of Extreme Machining Australia, from start-up to highly regarded International competitor.
Sadly, John died in 2006, but his lasting legacy is the amazing WedgeTail™ Roller Reamer and the ShingleBack™ Disposable IB Stabilizer, whose equals are yet to be found. John always knew that roller-reamers could be better - and through hard work and tenacity, he was able to develop the tool, and the market.
